Mercy Corps is a non-profit with the mission of alleviating suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities. National New Markets Funds investment will enable the organization to relocate and consolidate its World Headquarters within a single location. This will improve operational efficiencies, free up wasted capital, and allow Mercy Corps better achieve its global initiatives and social mission.
The headquarters will house approximately 200 employees, generating significant community and economic benefits to one of Portland's most blighted and underserved communities.

The project includes the renovation of the historic Skidmore Fountain Building and new construction on an adjoining property. The 80,000 sq ft. project includes offices, a warehouse, parking, and a Museum-Learning Center, which are expected to attract 70,000 visitors per year. Mercy Corps aims to achieve a high level of environmental sustainability and is committed to achieving at a minimum, LEED Gold certification.
