Kip Hamilton joined SDS in 2015 as Managing Director – Real Estate Funds.  With over 17 years of experience in commercial real estate investment and development, Kip is responsible for the structuring, launch and management of SDS’ real estate funds.


Prior to joining SDS Kip was an industrial developer with Seventh Street Development.  From 2012 through 2015 Kip was responsible for execution of all of Seventh Street’s operations including acquisitions, financing, entitlements, leasing and asset management.  Prior to Seventh Street, Kip served as Vice President with Shamrock Capital Advisors, where he helped manage the $85 million Genesis L.A. Real Estate Fund and the $104 million Genesis Real Estate Fund II.  The Genesis L.A. Real Estate Fund, which was launched with the help of SDS’s founder Deborah La Franchi, was one of the first Double Bottom Line private equity funds in the U.S. The Genesis Funds provided equity and mezzanine debt for developers working in low and moderate income neighborhoods in Southern California. Prior to Shamrock, Kip worked in investment sales at Kennedy Wilson and Eastdil Secured where he closed over $2.0 billion of transactions.


Kip is a graduate of Columbia University where he majored in Economics and Japanese.  He is also a member of NAIOP and serves on the board of Friends of Overland, a non-profit that raises money for Overland Elementary in Los Angeles.



In his free time Kip enjoys skiing, playing basketball and spending time with his family.
