Asteria Steinberger joined SDS in 2015 as Senior Asset Manager. She is in charge of monitoring the financial progress and stability of each individual investment as well as ensuring continued compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Ms. Steinberger is passionate about helping small businesses grow to become a key engine of job creation and a catalyst of economic growth. Prior to joining SDS, Ms. Steinberger was a Senior Investment Associate and Portfolio Manager at Breakwater Investment Management, LLC, a private investment firm that provides growth capital to small businesses. She previously worked as an Investment Banking Summer Associate at Credit Suisse. Ms. Steinberger started her career at KPMG LLP's Economic & Valuation Services and Deloitte Tax LLP's Property Tax Services.
Ms. Steinberger graduated magna cum laude from Whittier College and earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a recipient of the Joseph Wharton Fellowship for students with an outstanding record of academic, personal and professional achievements.
Ms. Steinberger was born and raised in Indonesia. Having grown up in a developing country where poverty is ubiquitous, she developed a voracious appetite for finding sustainable solutions to help people from disadvantaged backgrounds. She has volunteered as a consultant to various nonprofit organizations and is actively involved in church activities. While at Wharton she was a Consultant at the Wharton Small Business Development Center and a Social Impact Fellow, focusing on creating programs that leverage business approaches for positive social impact. Ms. Steinberger is a yoga practitioner and aspires to be a certified yoga teacher.
